While I absolutely love the crazy arcade warfare that Battlefield 3 provides, ArmA 2 gives me one crazy-ass military simluation experience. I can barely describe the depth and size of this. The map is like a small country (and there's two of them!). There's a huge community that makes missions and campaigns that can last for hours and playing online is insane. It's such an amazingly intimidating, but rewarding game, but it gets even cooler:

So this gigantic game with an arsenal of weapons and vehicles gets turned into a seriously hardcore zombie survival game with Day Z. It reminds me of Minecraft, but with permadeath...and no mining or building. You spawn on the shore and basically need to survive. You will get hungry, you will get thirsty, you will bleed if harmed. Night and day occur in absolutely real time, weather exists, etc. You can find car parts and repair a vehicle, hunt animals and cook their meat, raid military bases and farms. This shit is just in Alpha and it's kinda blowing my mind.
I played with my brother and Jackstallion last night. Meeting up was extremely difficult to figure out since we're new to the country of Chernarus, but we managed to do so. Of course, this only happened after I had attracted about a dozen zombies to my location with a flare. We had a hilarious time just scavenging through towns, getting the shit scared out of us. We ended up even getting sniped at by a bandit (a real dude being an asshole, no joke), but escaped.
So yeah, that's enough procrastinating, I'm gonna take a call now.
